Downhill to a Title

ree

In one of its finest moments, the late Temple Mountain Ski Area was the home site for Conval’s and Milford’s alpine teams in the winter of 1999. That year, the Cougars won their first and only state skiing title, with the boys alpine team nudging Division IV powerhouse Kearsarge.

Not only did they win a state championship, the team won the NHIAA’s Good Sportsmanship Award.

Photo shows members of the team celebrating at the Temple Mountain lodge, which sadly closed for good in the fall of 2001. From left: Karl Beck, Dan Pietrovito, Chad Demetry, Coach Tim Farrell, Brian Christianson, Dave Greene, Joel Sipe and Andy Bartlett. Other members of the state championship team were: Ryan Bell, Harvey Goodwin, Isaac Hill, Ted Sloan, John Berube, Ben Danforth and Ryan Walsh.
